OUR STORY

When our son was about three years old, he used to run up the garden (where the pretend food shop is, you know!) and come back with: "bread, milk, sweets and all sorts of things". That was always what he bought and he said it so matter-of-factly that I thought "That's the perfect name for a business, if I ever have one".

I started off with rusks because my family, extended family and friends love them and the children always had them as an alternative to biscuits - they also love leaving the crumbs out for the birds.

Here in my tiny kitchen I still bake and cut every batch of rusks by hand - my favourite time of day is when that first batch goes into the oven and the house is quickly filled with its sweet smell. 

All flavours have been developed from well loved recipes that I grew up with, and it took some practice and a lot of love to get them just right!   I still believe in the value of homemade, crafted, quality baked goods and have always emphasized taste over flash.
